I’m lacking the motivation and the creativity to put together a real blog entry - that is, one with an actual subject. I believe this problem is related to the weather, which has sucked out my very life essence and iced it over in the sub-freezing temperatures. Instead, here are some of the random highlights of our lives.

..…

It is no great secret that my husband is working two jobs. Every day he does the day job, and then comes home and works 3 to 4 hours in the evening. He never makes it to bed before midnight, and rarely that early. He also works full time and then some on the weekends. Apparently, “burnout” does not translate into French. I am in awe of his drive. He is a bootstrapper.

The weather is dry and cold. And dry. And did I mention dry? This is posing a problem for mother and son, as we both wage war with the eczema monster. Cedric has remained unaffected, probably because of his fondness for rubbing his body in oil and doing muscle poses in front of the full length mirror. Not really. But it’s not very fair, is it?

..…

Cedric is slowly, but surely, initiating me into the soulless realm of computer technology. My fingernails leave long scratches across the earth as I fight being pulled into a world with no human feeling, only the confusing fog of code. My mouth forms the shape of a scream, but all that manages to come out is 0101010110010…

Uhm, okay. I may be getting carried away. But for someone who has managed to live life as a technophobe, this is a big transition for me. In elementary school, I used to fear being called on to set up the TV on movie days, because I didn’t know how to use a VCR. Actually, my two career choices as a child were to either become a cloistered nun or join an Amish sect. Yes, I fantasized unrealistically about a simple life. Yes, I’m weird. Cedric is slowly bringing me around.

Loulou’s personality continues to develop. He has started hiding his face in our legs when strangers are present. He’s proving to be a very open minded eater – he usually gets whatever we’re having. This week, he’s eaten things like polenta with tomatoes and goat cheese, cabbage soup, couscous, and pork with prune sauce. He shakes his head when we tell him no, and he listens to us. He understands new words, like kitty, papa, nez, chat, lolo, and others I’m forgetting. He still doesn’t say any words. He’s very active and energetic, but always very happy. His smiles make my day.

Smiling children can cure almost every aliment known to man, especially seasonal affective disorder. You might try Curel lotion on that dry skin, it cost more that most, but works better than anything else I've ever tried.
Hang in there spring is only 21 days away......

Aveeno baby lotion with oatmeal works well too. He is such a cutie; when do we get more photos?

This may not be your cup of tea, but tanning would be beneficial, maybe just a couple of times..the vitamin D will help your spirits and for excema, doctors will write prescriptions for it..just something to keep in mind:)
btw, t'was a good post:)

I went tanning for a couple months in college, but my roommate would always tell me things like "you just increased you likelihood of getting skin cancer by 4000%" everytime I came back. So it was hard to keep up.
It's a good suggestion though. I might try it out. Thanks.
