Le choc culturel qui menace tout expatrié qui se respecte a ceci de remarquable qu'il se manifeste plus dans les petits détails de la vie quotidienne que dans les grandes tendances qui séparent nos cultures respectives.

Florilège de mes étonnements (1ère partie)

Aux Etats-Unis d'Amérique:

• Les gateaux et les tartes se mangent avec une fourchette.
• Tous mes collègues gardent des friandises au bureau.
• Les banques ont un drive-in.
• On peut tourner à droite même quand le feu est rouge.
• L'essence coûte 0.37 euros/litre.
• Les médicaments sous ordonnance ne sont pas vendus dans leur emballage d'origine. Le pharmacien compte les pilules et les met dans une petite boite en plastique.
• On peux aller au supermarché à 3h du matin, mais on ne peut pas acheter d'alcool le dimanche.
• Une visite de routine chez le dentiste coûte $99 (environ 76 euros).
• Au restaurant, le plat principal s'appelle une 'Entrée'.
• Une 'Matinée', c'est une seance de cinéma tôt l'après-midi.

Pour la matinée, je crois que c'est pareil au théâtre ici ;-)

Je suis choquée, car en France :
- Rien n'est ouvert le dimanche
- On est obligé de faire la bise (kisses!!!!, yuck!) avec des gens qu'on ne connais pas
- On mange les radis avec du beurre
- Pour faire "cool", on souhaite bon week end à quelqu'un en disant "bon week" soit "bonne semaine".
